The Tall Washi Paper Pendant is an elongated paper pendant, 140 cm (55") or 240 cm (94.5") tall, hung on a 150 cm (59") adjustable cord with a polished chrome fitting. At full height it fills the vertical space of a stairwell or double-height room with a soft column of light; the 140 cm brings the same calm glow to a living room, bedroom or home office with a higher ceiling.

Two papers

Each height is made in cotton paper or in authentic Japanese washi. Cotton paper has a smooth, even surface and gives a bright, uniform glow. Washi is a long-fibred paper, strong for its weight, with a visible texture that makes the light warmer and more organic. Both are shaped by hand, so each piece varies slightly.

Where it belongs

The 240 cm is made for ceilings of about 4.5 m (15 ft) and up: a stairwell, a double-height hall or living room. The 140 cm works under ceilings from about 3 m (10 ft), or lower when it hangs over a side table or into a corner rather than over a walkway. Wherever people walk beneath it, keep at least 2.1 m (7 ft) clear.

Lamping and installation

One E27 lamp (E26 for North America), warm white LED at 2700K. A touch switch turns it on and off. The bulb is included with the 140 cm cotton paper version; on the other versions bulbs are not included. The pendant weighs about 2 to 3.5 kg (4.4 to 7.7 lb) and is wired to a ceiling box by your electrician.

Care

Dust with a soft, dry brush. Keep the paper away from moisture, steam and direct heat.
