The Wabi-Sabi Pendant is a rounded shade of textured resin in an earth-brown tone, set on an iron frame. It comes in two sizes, 35 cm (13.8″) and 45 cm (17.7″) wide, both 26 cm (10.2″) high. It hangs on its own over a bedside or reading chair, or in a group over a dining table.

The resin

The shade is cast in resin and given a hand-worked, uneven surface that catches light across its ridges. The colour is a soft earth brown, and it sits well with oak, linen, clay and lime-washed walls in a Japandi or wabi-sabi room.

Sizing and placement

The 35 cm (13.8″) suits a bedside, a reading chair or a small hallway, or a pair over a kitchen island. The 45 cm (17.7″) suits a small round table of about 90 to 120 cm (35 to 47″), or a group of three over a longer table. Over a table, hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The shade hangs from a 50 cm (19.7″) cable that adjusts on site, and it can be made longer or shorter to order. It can be mounted to the ceiling or the wall.

The light

The light falls down through the open base as a soft pool, while the textured shade stays quiet and dark. It is a gentle light that settles a room. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

One E27 lamp (E26 in North America). Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The pendant weighs about 2.5 to 3.5 kg (5.5 to 7.7 lb). It is hardwired by your electrician.

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool. Dust with a soft dry cloth or brush, working into the texture. A lightly damp cloth can be used on the outside; keep solvents and abrasive cleaners away from the resin.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order. The cable length can be set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
