Travertine Globe Pendant | CL8870022

The Travertine Globe Pendant is a small sphere turned from a single solid block of natural travertine, hung on a braided fabric cable. The sphere is 10 cm (3.9″) across and hangs on a 120 cm (47.2″) cable. Hang one low beside a bed, line several over a kitchen island, or cluster them at different heights in a stairwell.

The travertine

Travertine is a natural stone with a warm, earthy tone, open pitting and fine banded striations. Each sphere is turned from one solid block, so the pattern of holes and bands is different on every piece, and it has the real weight of stone in the hand.

Sizing and placement

At 10 cm (3.9″) across, one sphere suits a bedside or a narrow shelf niche. Over a kitchen island, hang three to five in a row. In a stairwell or double-height space, group five or more at different heights. Over a table or island, hang the bottom of each sphere 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

Each sphere hangs on a 120 cm (47.2″) braided fabric cable that adjusts on site. The cable can be made longer to order for high ceilings and stairwells.

The light

The stone holds the light in and sends it straight down as a small, focused pool. It is an intimate light for a bedside or for picking out a surface. Used in a group, it gives a scatter of warm points rather than general room light, so pair it with ambient light elsewhere.

Lamping and installation

A single 5 W LED light source. Warm white at 2700K. It is hardwired by your electrician.

Care

Switch off first. Dust the stone with a soft dry cloth or brush. Keep water, acidic cleaners and sprays off the travertine, as they can mark natural stone.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order. The cable length can be set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
