Tiered Brass Pendant | CL85070N

The Tiered Brass Pendant is a round pendant of stacked, brushed-brass tiers on a slim steel suspension. It is 60 cm (23.6″) in diameter and hangs on a 140 cm (55.1″) adjustable cable. It is made for a dining table, a kitchen island or an entrance hall, and it is the hanging companion to our tiered brass floor lamp.

The brass

The shade is built from layered rings of brass with a brushed finish. Each tier sits slightly inside the one above, so the lamp is hidden from most angles and the light comes out between the layers. The brushed surface gives the brass a soft, even sheen.

Why warm light matters

Brass takes on the colour of the light it reflects. At 2700K the tiers glow warm gold; cooler light turns them flat and greenish. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 60 cm (23.6″) wide, the pendant suits a round or square table of about 120 to 160 cm (47 to 63″), or a room of around 3.5 × 4 m (12 × 13 ft). Over a longer table or an island, hang two in a row. Over a table, hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface. In an entrance hall, hang it where it can be seen from below.

Suspension

The pendant hangs on a 140 cm (55.1″) cable that is adjusted to the height you need when it is installed. A longer or shorter cable can be made to order.

The light

The light comes out between the tiers and reflects off the brass, so the pendant gives a warm, ambient light with no glare, and some light falls onto the table below. Over a kitchen island, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

E27 LED lamp, up to 6 W. Warm white at 2700K. The bulb is not included. The pendant weighs about 5 kg (11 lb).

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool. Dust with a soft dry cloth, following the direction of the brushing. Do not use metal polish or abrasive cleaners: they mark the finish.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order. The cable length can be set to your ceiling, and dimming is available on request.
