Silk Pendant Light | White | CL785203

The White Silk Pendant is a clean white silk shade on an iron frame, with a simple knob switch on the fixture. It comes in four widths: 40 cm (15.7″), 50 cm (19.7″), 60 cm (23.6″) and 70 cm (27.5″). It hangs over a dining table, beside a bed, or in a study, living room, spa or restaurant.

The shade

The shade is white silk, which has a fine, faintly lustrous surface and spreads light evenly across it. The form is plain and rounded, so it sits quietly in a calm room and still holds the eye when lit.

Why warm light matters

A white shade takes on the colour of the lamp inside it. At 2700K the silk glows a soft, creamy white; cooler light makes it look flat and blue. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

The 40 cm (15.7″) suits a bedside, a desk or a small hallway. The 50 cm (19.7″) suits a small round table of about 90 to 110 cm (35 to 43″). The 60 cm (23.6″) suits a table of about 110 to 150 cm (43 to 59″). The 70 cm (27.5″) suits a table of about 150 cm (59″) and above, or the middle of a living room. Each lights an area of about 5 to 10 m² (54 to 108 sq ft). Over a table, hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The shade hangs on a cord, and the cord can be made longer or shorter to order.

The light

Light passes through the silk as a soft, even glow with no bright spot. It is an ambient light, and the knob switch on the fixture makes it easy to use beside a bed or chair. Over a kitchen island or desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

One E27 lamp. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. It is hardwired by your electrician.

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool. Dust the silk with a soft brush or a vacuum on low with a brush attachment. Keep water and cleaners off the shade.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order. The cord length can be set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
