The Flower Glass Chandelier is a compact chandelier of white glass blooms held in an open brass framework, two staggered rows of them above a bowl-shaped base. It is 33 cm (13″) wide and 41 cm (16.1″) high and hangs on a 30 cm (11.8″) chain. It suits a dining room, a bedroom, a living room or an entrance.

The glass

Each bloom is formed by hand, so the petals vary a little in shape and thickness from one flower to the next. The glass is white, and it softens the light and gives the piece its gentle, feminine outline. The glass colour can be changed when you order.

The frame

The blooms sit loosely in a slim brass framework, arranged in two rows that step past each other. The bowl at the base holds the lamps.

Why warm light matters

White glass takes on the tone of the lamps inside it. At 2700K the blooms glow a soft cream, like candlelight on porcelain; cooler light makes them look grey and cold. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 33 cm (13″) wide, the chandelier suits a small round table of about 70 to 90 cm (28 to 35″), a bedroom, a powder room or an entrance, or a pair hung over a kitchen island. Over a table, hang the bottom of the chandelier 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

With the standard 30 cm (11.8″) chain, the chandelier hangs about 71 cm (28″) from the ceiling. The chain is made longer or shorter to order for higher ceilings.

The light

The lamps sit in the base and shine upward through the glass blooms, so the chandelier gives a diffused, ambient glow rather than a downlight. You can fit fewer lamps for a softer light. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

Four E12 candelabra lamps. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The chandelier weighs about 4 kg (8.8 lb). The fixture is hardwired.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster, supporting each bloom with your other hand. Wipe the brass with a soft dry cloth and no polish.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order. The glass colour can be chosen, chain length can be set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
