Brass Saucer Pendant | CLH7100

The Brass Saucer Pendant is a broad, shallow disc of brass hung on rods. It comes in three diameters: 45 cm (17.7″), 60 cm (23.6″) and 75 cm (29.5″). The saucer is 15 cm (5.9″) deep, and the fixture hangs about 80 cm (31.5″) from the ceiling. It suits a dining table, a kitchen island or an entrance hall.

The brass

The saucer is formed from brass into a wide, low dome with a clean edge. The warm gold surface is left plain, so the shape and the metal carry the piece.

Sizing and placement

The 45 cm (17.7″) size suits a table of about 90 to 120 cm (35 to 47″), or a pair over a kitchen island. The 60 cm (23.6″) size suits a table of about 120 to 160 cm (47 to 63″). The 75 cm (29.5″) size suits a table of 160 cm (63″) and above, or an entrance hall. Over a table, hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface. Because the saucer is shallow, it keeps sightlines open across the room.

Suspension

The pendant hangs on rods, and rods of 15, 30 and 45 cm (6, 12 and 18″) are supplied so the drop can be set on site. At about 80 cm (31.5″) overall, over a table or island it suits ceilings of about 2.4 to 2.6 m (8 to 8.5 ft). Longer or shorter rods are made to order.

The light

The lamps sit inside the saucer and shine down, so the brass hides them and the light falls onto the table below with a soft glow around the rim. It gives an even light over a table. In a large open-plan room, pair it with softer ambient light elsewhere.

Lamping and installation

E26 or E27 lamps, depending on the destination country. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The 45 cm weighs about 4 kg (8.8 lb), the 60 cm about 7 kg (15.4 lb) and the 75 cm about 9 kg (19.8 lb). Have your electrician fix the larger sizes to a joist or reinforced blocking. For indoor use.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool. Dust with a soft dry cloth. Do not use metal polish or abrasive cleaners: they flatten the finish and can mark the brass.

Every saucer is made to order. The rod length can be set to your ceiling, and dimming is available on request.
