Black Glass Pendant | Brass Accents | CLH854WB

The Black Glass Pendant is a compact dark glass shade with brass accents, 18 cm (7.1″) wide and about 17 cm (6.7″) high, on a 50 cm (19.7″) cable. It comes in black or bronze. Hang one over a bedside table or a reading chair, or several in a row above a kitchen counter, an island or a dining table.

The glass

The shade is dark tinted glass, deep enough to soften the light and let the bulb show through as a warm shape inside. Against it, the brass accents give a small line of warm metal.

Why warm light matters

Tinted glass carries the colour of the lamp inside it. At 2700K the shade glows a warm, smoky brown around the bulb; cooler light makes it look grey and dull. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 18 cm (7.1″) wide, the pendant works singly beside a bed or over a small table, and in rows of three to five over a kitchen counter or island, spaced about 50 to 60 cm (20 to 24″) apart. Over a counter or table, hang the bottom of the shade 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The pendant hangs on a 50 cm (19.7″) cable as standard. The cable is made longer or shorter to order for your ceiling height.

The light

The dark glass keeps the light low and warm, so the pendant gives a soft, focused glow below it and a gentle accent to the room. Over a kitchen island, pair a row of them with brighter task lighting.

Lamping and installation

One E27 lamp. Warm white LED at 2700K; a filament bulb suits the visible lamp. Bulbs are not included. The pendant weighs about 1 to 1.5 kg (2.2 to 3.3 lb). The fixture is hardwired.

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool first. Wipe the glass with a soft cloth, lightly dampened if needed, and dust the brass with a soft dry cloth and no polish.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order. Cable length can be set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
