Double-Ring Chandelier | CLDRING088

The Double-Ring Chandelier is two slim LED rings, one inside the other, floating on fine cables at different heights. The frame is iron in a brushed brass finish. It comes in three sizes: 60 cm (23.6″) with 40 cm (15.7″), 80 cm (31.5″) with 60 cm (23.6″), and 100 cm (39.4″) with 80 cm (31.5″). It hangs on 50 cm (19.7″) cables as standard and suits an entrance hall, a living room, a stairwell or a modern dining room.

The frame

Each ring is an iron band with a brushed brass finish, with the LED set behind an acrylic diffuser. The brushed finish is soft rather than mirror-bright, and it warms the light that comes off the rings. From below, the two circles overlap and shift as you move.

Why warm light matters

The rings glow through their diffusers, and the brushed brass reflects that glow. At 2700K the light is warm and the brass reads gold. Under cooler light the brass turns flat and the ring looks clinical. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

The 60 + 40 cm (23.6 + 15.7″) size suits a smaller entrance hall, a bedroom or a table of about 110 to 140 cm (43 to 55″). The 80 + 60 cm (31.5 + 23.6″) suits a living room or a table of about 140 to 180 cm (55 to 71″). The 100 + 80 cm (39.4 + 31.5″) suits a large living room, a double-height hall or a stairwell. Over a table, hang the lower ring 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The rings hang on 50 cm (19.7″) cables as standard. The cables are made longer or shorter to order.

The light

The LED runs all the way round each ring, so the light is even and spread in a wide circle. It gives a clean ambient light for a hall or living room. Over a kitchen island or desk, add task lighting.

Lamping and installation

Integrated LED, warm white at 2700K, giving around 2,800 to 5,200 lumens by size. It weighs about 8 to 12 kg (18 to 26 lb) in the small size, 12 to 18 kg (26 to 40 lb) in the medium and 18 to 26 kg (40 to 57 lb) in the large. The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking. For indoor use only.

Care

Switch off first. Dust the rings with a soft dry cloth, following the direction of the brushing. Do not use metal polish or abrasive cleaners on the finish or the diffusers.
