The Matera Horizon | Solid Cast Blue & Brutalist Texture | CLMTLB

The Matera Horizon in blue is a linear chandelier of solid cast copper with a deep, cratered sand-cast relief, 137 cm (53.9") or 182 cm (71.7") long and 14 cm (5.5") high, in a blue finish. The light grazes the texture and throws dramatic shadows across the ceiling and the table.

The casting

Each piece is sand-cast in solid copper, so the relief is formed in the metal itself rather than applied to its surface. No two castings are identical. The blue finish follows every crater and ridge, darker in the hollows and lighter on the raised edges, which is what gives the relief its depth.

Choosing a size

The 137 cm suits a kitchen island or dining table of about 220 to 260 cm (87 to 102"); the 182 cm suits a longer island or table. Hang the base 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35") above the surface.

Suspension and installation

It hangs on 50 cm (19.7") rods, which can be extended at order. It weighs about 16 to 22 kg (35 to 49 lb) at 137 cm and 22 to 30 kg (49 to 66 lb) at 182 cm, so have your electrician fit a structural ceiling fixing.

Lamping

E14 lamps (E12 for North America), warm white at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The fixture is dimmable.

Care

Dust with a soft, dry brush that reaches into the relief. No metal polish or abrasive cleaners, which would strip the finish from the raised edges.

Made to order

Rod length and finish can be specified before production. The Matera Horizon is also made in gold, silver and red, and the Matera is made as a round ring chandelier. A sloped ceiling adapter is available on request. Trade clients can request drawings and project quantities through our trade program.
