The Cortina Tiered Chandelier | Selenite & Brass | CLCRT

The Cortina is a tiered chandelier of hundreds of hand-cleaved natural selenite crystals on a solid brass frame, 80 cm (31.5") across and 73 cm (28.7") high, or 102 cm (40.1") across and 74 cm (29.1") high. The stone reads like a frozen waterfall held in mid-air.

The stone

Selenite is a fibrous gypsum crystal, cleaved rather than cut, so every edge is irregular and the light refracts through the layers into a soft, moon-like glow. No two fixtures are alike.

Choosing a size

The 80 cm suits a round dining table for six to eight or a primary bedroom; the 102 cm suits a table for ten or a double-height living room. Over a table, hang the lowest stone 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35") above the surface.

Lamping and installation

E14 lamps (E12 for North America), warm white at 2700K. It weighs about 22 to 30 kg (49 to 66 lb) at 80 cm and 32 to 42 kg (71 to 93 lb) at 102 cm, so both sizes need a structural ceiling fixing fitted by an electrician.

Made to order

The suspension is made to your ceiling height, and the brass finish can be specified before production. A sloped ceiling adapter and dimming are available on request. Trade clients can request drawings and project quantities through our trade program.
