The Swirled Glass Halo Chandelier is a ring of irregular, hand-formed glass pieces set around a stainless steel frame and lit by an integrated LED. It comes in three diameters, 60 cm (23.6″), 80 cm (31.5″) and 100 cm (39.4″), all 28 cm (11″) high, on an adjustable 100 cm (39.4″) suspension. It suits a dining room, a living room, a foyer or an entrance.

The glass

Each piece of glass is formed individually, with swirls running through it, so its contour, texture and depth differ from the next. Layered around the ring, the pieces overlap and soften the light into a gradient. The frame and canopy are stainless steel.

Why warm light matters

Swirled glass takes on the colour of the light passing through it. At 2700K the swirls glow warm and the layers show their depth; cooler light makes the glass look grey and flat. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

The 60 cm (23.6″) suits a round or square table of about 90 to 120 cm (35 to 47″) or a room of around 3 × 3.5 m (10 × 11.5 ft). The 80 cm (31.5″) suits a table of about 120 to 160 cm (47 to 63″) or a room of around 4 × 4.5 m (13 × 15 ft). The 100 cm (39.4″) suits a table of 160 cm (63″) and above, a large living room or a foyer. Over a table, hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The chandelier hangs on a 100 cm (39.4″) suspension that adjusts on site, so at full length it sits about 128 cm (50.4″) below the ceiling. For higher ceilings and stairwells the suspension is made longer to order.

The light

The LED ring sits inside the glass, so the source stays hidden and the light comes out as a warm, even gradient. It is an ambient light for the room rather than a downlight. Over a table used for work, keep task lighting nearby.

Lamping and installation

Integrated LED at 2700K. The 60 cm weighs about 9 to 13 kg (20 to 29 lb), the 80 cm about 14 to 19 kg (31 to 42 lb) and the 100 cm about 20 to 28 kg (44 to 62 lb). The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking, particularly for the larger sizes.

Care

Switch off first. Dust with a dry microfibre cloth. For marks, use water with a little neutral soap and dry at once. Keep ammonia- and alcohol-based cleaners off the glass.

Made to order

Every chandelier is made to order. The suspension length is set to your ceiling, and dimming is available on request.
