Rimini Ceiling Lamp | Plaster | CLBBGT040

The Rimini is a ceiling lamp of hand-finished plaster with a soft, matte sculptural body, strengthened by a metal rod holder set within the plaster. It comes in two sizes: 50 cm (19.7″) wide and 46 cm (18.1″) high with three bulbs, and 75 cm (29.5″) wide and 68 cm (26.8″) high with five. The canopy is 18 cm (7″) across. It suits a dining room, an entry or a living room.

The plaster

The body is real plaster, finished by hand to a soft, matte surface. A metal rod holder sits within the plaster for strength. Because every piece is finished by hand, the surface varies slightly from one to the next.

Sizing and placement

The 50 cm (19.7″) suits a round table of about 90 to 120 cm (35 to 47″), a small entry or a bedroom. The 75 cm (29.5″) suits a dining table of about 140 to 180 cm (55 to 71″), a larger entry or a living room. Both are nearly as tall as they are wide, so they look best where there is ceiling height to hold them. Over a table, hang the bottom of the lamp 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The drop is set to your ceiling height when you order and is made longer or shorter to suit.

The light

The plaster body softens the light into a diffused, ambient glow. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

Three E27 lamps in the 50 cm and five in the 75 cm. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The 50 cm weighs about 4 to 6 kg (9 to 13 lb) and the 75 cm about 7 to 10 kg (15 to 22 lb). The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool. Dust with a soft, dry brush or cloth. Keep water and cleaning products off the plaster: it is porous and marks easily.

Made to order

Every Rimini is made to order and finished by hand. The drop can be set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
