Multi-Arm Chandelier | Brass & Linen | CLPRH29

The Multi-Arm Linen Chandelier is a starburst of forged solid brass arms, each ending in a linen cylinder shade. It comes in three sizes: 6 lights, 91 cm (35.8″) wide and 48 cm (18.9″) high; 8 lights, 121 cm (47.6″) wide and 53 cm (20.9″) high; and 16 lights, 152 cm (59.8″) wide and 83 cm (32.7″) high. It suits a living room, an entrance hall or a formal dining room.

The brass

The arms are forged from solid brass and radiate from the centre in a sculptural starburst. The warm metal carries the eye out to the shades and holds the whole piece together.

The shade

Each arm ends in a cylinder shade of linen. The weave softens the lamp and gives a flattering, even glow. The shades can be replaced one by one.

Why warm light matters

Linen takes on the colour of the lamp inside it. At 2700K the shades glow a warm cream; cooler light turns them grey and flat. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

The 6-light, at 91 cm (35.8″), suits a table of about 180 to 220 cm (71 to 87″), or a living room of around 4 × 5 m (13 × 16 ft). The 8-light, at 121 cm (47.6″), suits a table of about 220 to 260 cm (87 to 102″) or a living room of around 5 × 6 m (16 × 20 ft). The 16-light, at 152 cm (59.8″) wide and 83 cm (32.7″) high, suits a large entrance hall, a double-height living room or a grand dining room. Over a table, hang the bottom of the chandelier 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The chandelier hangs from a rod, set to your ceiling height. It is made longer or shorter to order.

The light

The linen shades diffuse the lamps, so the chandelier gives a soft, ambient light across the room rather than a direct downlight. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

E12 or E14 lamps: six, eight or sixteen depending on size. Warm white LED at 2700K. The 6-light weighs about 11 to 14 kg (24 to 31 lb), the 8-light about 17 to 22 kg (37 to 49 lb) and the 16-light about 28 to 36 kg (62 to 79 lb). The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust the linen shades with a soft brush, or a vacuum on low with a brush attachment. Wipe the brass with a soft dry cloth and do not use metal polish.

Every chandelier is made to order. The rod length is set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
