Linear Brass & Glass Chandelier | CLKUD025

The Linear Brass & Glass Chandelier is a linear frame set with stepped tiers of clear prismatic glass. It comes in four lengths, 80 cm (31.5″), 100 cm (39.4″), 120 cm (47.2″) and 150 cm (59.1″), all 42 cm (16.5″) high, and hangs on a 40 cm (15.7″) chain. It is made for a dining table or a kitchen island.

The glass

The glass is clear and prismatic, cut into facets and set in steps along the frame, in a shape that starts from Art Deco and moves toward the contemporary. The facets catch the light and scatter it, so the piece sparkles and shows depth from every angle.

The frame

The frame, canopy and chain come in gold, silver or black. The gold and silver versions are brass; the black version is stainless steel with a black finish.

Why warm light matters

Clear prismatic glass takes on the colour of the lamps. At 2700K the facets sparkle a warm gold; cooler light makes the glass look icy and hard. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

The 80 cm (31.5″) suits a compact table of about 140 to 160 cm (55 to 63″) or a small island. The 100 cm (39.4″) suits a table of about 160 to 180 cm (63 to 71″). The 120 cm (47.2″) suits a table of about 180 to 220 cm (71 to 87″) or a standard kitchen island. The 150 cm (59.1″) suits a long table of about 220 to 260 cm (87 to 102″) or a full-length island. Hang the bottom 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the tabletop or island. In walkways, keep about 240 to 260 cm (7.9 to 8.5 ft) from the floor to the bottom of the fixture.

Suspension

With the standard 40 cm (15.7″) chain, the chandelier hangs about 82 cm (32.3″) from the ceiling. Over a dining table that suits ceilings of roughly 2.3 to 2.5 m (7.5 to 8 ft). For higher ceilings the chain is made longer to order; leave your total drop when you order.

The light

The prismatic glass scatters the light into sparkle and gives a bright, lively ambient light along the table. Over a kitchen island, keep task lighting alongside it for prep work.

Lamping and installation

G9 lamps. Warm white LED at 2700K, around 4 to 5 W each. The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool. Dust the glass with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster. For a deeper clean, wipe it with a damp microfibre cloth and a little mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, never sprayed onto the fixture. Dust the frame with a soft dry cloth, without polish.

Made to order

Every chandelier is made to order in gold, silver or black. The chain length is set to your ceiling, and dimming is available on request.
