Frosted Glass Bowl Chandelier | CLVBG021

The Frosted Glass Bowl Chandelier is a frosted glass bowl with a softly scalloped rim, hung on solid brass chains. It is 43 cm (16.9″) wide and 77 cm (30.3″) high. It suits a dining room, an entrance hall or a powder room with a ceiling of about 2.4 to 3 m (8 to 10 ft).

The glass

The bowl is frosted glass, finished by hand, with a gently scalloped edge that catches the light around its rim. The frosting turns the lamps inside into an even, milky glow, so no bright point shows through.

The frame

The bowl hangs on solid brass chains with solid brass hardware. The brass pairs a classic detail with the simple, contemporary shape of the bowl.

Why warm light matters

Frosted glass takes on the colour of the lamps inside it. At 2700K the bowl glows a soft cream; cooler light makes it look blue-white and clinical. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 43 cm (16.9″) wide, it suits a small round table of about 80 to 110 cm (31 to 43″), an entrance hall, a landing, a bedroom or a powder room. It is proportioned for ceilings of about 2.4 to 3 m (8 to 10 ft). Over a table, hang the bottom of the bowl 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The bowl hangs on solid brass chains. The chain length is made longer or shorter to order to suit your ceiling.

The light

The frosted bowl spreads the light evenly, so the chandelier gives a soft, ambient light rather than a direct downlight. In a larger room, pair it with lamps or wall lights.

Lamping and installation

E12 or E14 lamps. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. It weighs about 6 to 8 kg (13 to 18 lb). The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster. For a deeper clean, wipe the glass with a damp microfibre cloth and a little mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, never sprayed onto the fixture. Wipe the brass with a soft dry cloth and do not use metal polish.

Every chandelier is made to order. The chain length is set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
