Fiore Chandelier | Clear Glass | CLZL896620C
Beschreibung
The Fiore is a glass petal chandelier of layered, hand-formed petals in clear glass on an iron frame with a gold finish. It comes in two sizes: Medium, 65 cm (25.6″) wide and 65 cm (25.6″) high, and Large, 80 cm (31.5″) wide and 80 cm (31.5″) high. The petals overlap in a rounded, Art Deco cluster that catches the light like ice, over a dining table, in a living room, or down a stairwell.
The glass
Each petal is a disc of glass shaped by hand while hot, so its edge, curve and surface texture vary slightly from the next. Clear glass shows that texture best: every ripple and edge picks up the light. It works in almost any scheme, from pale oak and white plaster to dark painted walls.
The frame
The petals are fixed to an iron frame finished in gold, which hangs from a 50 cm (19.7″) rod and a plain ceiling canopy in the same finish. Other metal finishes can be chosen when you order.
Why warm light matters
Clear glass shows the colour of the lamps exactly as it is. At 2700K the petals glow warm white, close to candlelight; cooler light looks hard and blue on the glass edges. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.
Sizing and placement
The Medium suits a round or square table of about 110 to 150 cm (43 to 59″), or a room of around 3.5 × 4 m (12 × 13 ft). The Large suits a table of 150 cm (59″) and above, a larger living room, or an entrance hall or stairwell where it is seen from below and from the side. Over a table, hang the bottom of the chandelier 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface. Because the Fiore is as tall as it is wide, it reads as a volume rather than a flat ring, and it looks best where there is height to hold it.
Suspension
With the standard 50 cm (19.7″) rod, the Medium hangs about 115 cm (45″) from the ceiling and the Large about 130 cm (51″). Over a dining table that suits ceilings of roughly 2.7 to 2.9 m (9 to 9.5 ft). For higher ceilings, stairwells and double-height spaces, the rod is made longer or swapped for chain, and a sloped ceiling adapter is available.
The light
The light passes through the layered petals and reflects between them, so the Fiore gives a soft, ambient light rather than a direct downlight. Clear is the brightest of the Fiore colours, and the petal edges draw fine bright lines around the cluster. The lamps may show through clear glass, so frosted or opal LED lamps give a calmer look than bare filaments. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.
Lamping and installation
Sixteen E14 lamps. Warm white LED at 2700K, around 2 to 3 W each (175 to 275 lumens), gives 2,800 to 4,400 lumens across the fixture. Bulbs are not included. The Medium weighs about 10 kg (22 lb) and the Large up to about 18 kg (40 lb). The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking rather than a standard ceiling box.
Care
Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster, supporting each petal with your other hand. For a deeper clean, wipe the glass with a damp microfibre cloth and a little mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, never sprayed onto the fixture. Keep abrasive products off the gold finish. Clear glass shows dust sooner than the coloured versions, so dust it a little more often.
Made to order
Every Fiore is made to order. It can be made in any of our sixteen hand-blown glass colours and six metal finishes, with rod or chain, a longer drop, sloped-ceiling adaptation and dimming. Customize this chandelier →
