De Silva Chandelier | Light Green Glass | CLPT80CGR

The De Silva is a large glass globe chandelier built as a sculptural cluster: eighteen hand-blown light green spheres gathered around a brass frame, with slender arms radiating outward so the piece reads as full from every side of the room.

The glass

Each globe is blown by hand in a light, transparent green, clearer and brighter than the forest-toned olive version. No two spheres are identical, and the colour shifts as daylight gives way to lamplight.

Why warm light matters

Coloured glass takes on the temperature of the lamp inside it. At 2700K the green reads fresh and luminous; cooler light turns it flat and grey. With eighteen lamps, it lights a full room on its own.

Sizing and placement

At 90 cm (35.4") across and 80 cm (31.5") high, it suits a dining table of about 135 to 180 cm (53 to 71"), a living room or a large bedroom. Over a table, hang the lowest globe 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35") above the surface; in a walkway, keep at least 2.1 m (7 ft) clear beneath it. It hangs on a 30 cm (11.8") rod, which can be specified longer at order.

Lamping and installation

Eighteen E14 lamps (E12 for North America), maximum 28W each. The chandelier weighs about 14 to 18 kg (31 to 40 lb), so have your electrician confirm the ceiling box is rated for the load.

Made to order

Rod length, glass colour and frame finish can be specified before production. The De Silva is also made in olive green and cherry glass. A sloped ceiling adapter and dimming are available on request. Trade clients can request drawings and project quantities through our trade program.
