Burl Wood Floor Lamp | Abstract Figure | CLBURL160

This floor lamp is a tall column in solid wood faced with burl veneer, carrying a generous fabric shade, 160 cm (63") high and 35 cm (14") square. Burl is the figured growth taken from a trunk, so the grain swirls rather than running straight.

The veneer

Burl is cut as a veneer because the figure comes from a small, irregular part of the tree; a solid column of it would be neither stable nor available at this scale. Each sheet is laid by hand over a solid wood core, and the figure is unique to the piece.

Where it belongs

A living room, a bedroom, a study or a hotel room, where the grain can be seen close up. The shade is wide enough to light a seating group rather than just the corner.

Lamping and installation

E27 lamps (E26 for North America), warm white at 2700K, which brings out the figure in the veneer.

Made to order

Veneer selection and shade fabric can be specified before production, and dimming is available on request. It is also made at 140 cm. Trade clients can request drawings and project quantities through our trade program.
