3-Link Wood & Glass Chandelier | CLVGT0281

The 3-Link Chandelier is a chandelier of solid wood beams joined in a three-link grid, with thirteen opal glass globes at the ends of the arms. It is made in walnut or ash, 80 cm (31.5″) long, 45 cm (17.7″) wide and 45 cm (17.7″) high. It suits a dining table, a living room or an entrance hall.

The wood

The beams are solid walnut or solid ash, interlocking in an architectural grid. Walnut is a deep, warm brown; ash is pale with a clear, open grain. The grain runs differently in every beam, so no two chandeliers are the same.

The glass

Each beam ends in a globe of matte opal glass. The opal glass hides the lamp and gives a soft, round glow against the natural grain.

Why warm light matters

Opal glass and natural wood both take on the colour of the light. At 2700K the globes glow cream and the wood looks rich and warm; cooler light makes the glass look chalky and the wood grey. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 80 cm (31.5″) long, it suits a table of about 150 to 190 cm (59 to 75″), a round table of about 120 to 150 cm (47 to 59″), or a room of around 3.5 × 4 m (12 × 13 ft). Over a table, hang the bottom of the chandelier 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Suspension

The chandelier hangs on a metal suspension, and the drop is set to your ceiling height. It is made longer or shorter to order.

The light

Thirteen globes spread the light evenly in every direction, so the chandelier gives a soft, ambient light. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

Thirteen G9 lamps. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. It weighs about 9 to 13 kg (20 to 29 lb). The fixture is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust the wood with a soft dry cloth and keep water and cleaners off it. Wipe the globes with a soft dry cloth, or a lightly damp microfibre cloth for a deeper clean, keeping moisture away from the wood.

Made to order

Every chandelier is made to order in walnut or ash. The drop is set to your ceiling height, and dimming is available on request.
