Wabi-Sabi Ceramic Ceiling Lamps | CL4465211T

The Wabi-Sabi Ceramic Ceiling Lamp is a low, close-to-ceiling light with a ceramic shade. It comes in four diameters: 45 cm (17.7″), 52 cm (20.5″), 60 cm (23.6″) and 70 cm (27.6″). It sits close to the ceiling, so it gives a room a calm centre without bringing the ceiling down, and suits a hallway, bedroom or living room with a standard or low ceiling.

The shade

The shade is textured ceramic with a matte surface in the wabi-sabi spirit: quiet, earthy and meant to be looked at up close. It softens the light and gives the fixture a warm, atmospheric character.

Sizing and placement

The 45 cm (17.7″) suits a hallway, a landing or a bedroom of about 3 × 3.5 m (10 × 11.5 ft). The 52 cm (20.5″) suits a bedroom or study of about 3.5 × 4 m (11.5 × 13 ft). The 60 cm (23.6″) suits a larger bedroom or a living room of about 4 × 4.5 m (13 × 15 ft). The 70 cm (27.6″) suits a living room or open-plan space of 4.5 × 5 m (15 × 16.5 ft) and up.

Mounting

The fixture mounts close to the ceiling, with no rod or chain, so it works where a hanging light would come too low.

The light

The ceramic shade softens and spreads the light into a calm, ambient layer rather than a direct downlight. In a kitchen or at a desk, add task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

One E27 lamp. Warm white LED at 2700K. The fixture weighs about 2 to 4 kg (4.4 to 8.8 lb), depending on size. It is hardwired; have it installed by an electrician.

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool. Dust the ceramic with a soft dry cloth or a soft brush. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the surface or the metal.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order. For residential, hospitality and trade projects, the metal finish and canopy finish can be adapted where technically possible: tell us your requirements when you order and we will confirm and quote. Dimming is available on request.
