Semi-Flush Gold Chandelier | CLSPK036

The Gold Semi-Flush Chandelier is a low ceiling light of intersecting solid brass arms in a brushed gold finish, holding frosted glass shades. It measures 83 cm (32.8″) across; the body is 12.7 cm (5″) high and hangs from a 20 cm (7.9″) rod. It suits an entry, a dining room or a bedroom with a standard or low ceiling.

The glass

Each shade is frosted glass with a sculptural form. The frosting diffuses the lamp inside to a soft, even light.

The frame

The arms are solid brass, brushed to a soft gold finish, and cross over one another so the shades sit at different points around the fixture.

Why warm light matters

Frosted glass takes the colour of the light behind it. At 2700K the shades glow a soft cream against the brass; cooler light turns them blue-white and flattens the metal. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 83 cm (32.8″) across, it suits a dining table of about 160 to 200 cm (63 to 79″), a living room or bedroom of around 4 × 5 m (13 × 16 ft), or an entrance hall. Over a table, center it on the table. With its short rod it suits ceilings of about 2.4 to 2.7 m (8 to 9 ft).

Mounting

The fixture hangs close to the ceiling on a 20 cm (7.9″) rod, which keeps headroom on standard and low ceilings. The rod can be made longer or shorter to order.

The light

The frosted shades spread the light evenly into the room for a soft, ambient light with little glare. Over a kitchen island or a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

Five lamps. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The fixture weighs about 6 to 9 kg (13 to 20 lb). It is hardwired; have your electrician fix it to a joist or reinforced blocking.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool first. Dust with a soft dry cloth, supporting each shade with your other hand. For a deeper clean, wipe the glass with a damp microfibre cloth and a little mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, never sprayed onto the fixture. Wipe the brass with a soft dry cloth only, with no metal polish or abrasive cleaners.

Every piece is made to order. The rod length can be set to your ceiling, and dimming is available on request.
