Modern Frosted Glass & Brass Flush Mount | CLFGC025

The Modern Frosted Glass & Brass Flush Mount is a round ceiling light with a frosted glass shade held on brass hardware. It measures 41 cm (16.1″) across and 21 cm (8.3″) high, and takes four lamps, so it gives real room light from close to the ceiling. It suits a living room, bedroom or hallway, and it is also made as a pendant.

The glass

The shade is frosted glass with a soft, ice-like texture on its surface. The frosting hides the four lamps inside and spreads their light evenly across the shade. The brass hardware adds a warm line of metal against the pale glass.

Why warm light matters

Frosted glass takes on the colour of the lamps behind it. At 2700K the shade glows a soft ivory, and the textured surface reads gently in the light; cooler light makes it look grey and cold. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 41 cm (16.1″) wide, the flush mount suits a bedroom, study or living room of about 3 × 3.5 m to 4 × 4 m (10 × 11.5 ft to 13 × 13 ft), or an entrance hall. With a 21 cm (8.3″) profile it works on ceilings from about 2.4 m (8 ft). For higher ceilings, or over a table, choose the pendant version; over a table, hang the bottom of the shade 75 to 90 cm (30 to 35″) above the surface.

Mounting

Choose the flush mount or the pendant when you order. The flush mount fixes directly to the ceiling. The pendant hangs the same shade below the ceiling, with the drop set to your ceiling height.

The light

Four lamps behind frosted glass give a bright, even ambient light that fills the room rather than pooling below the fixture. In a kitchen or over a desk, keep task lighting alongside it.

Lamping and installation

Four E27 lamps. Warm white LED at 2700K. Bulbs are not included. The fixture weighs about 3 kg (6.6 lb). It is hardwired; have it installed by an electrician.

Care

Switch off and let the lamps cool. Dust the glass with a soft dry cloth. For a deeper clean, wipe it with a damp microfibre cloth and a little mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, never sprayed onto the fixture. Wipe the brass with a soft dry cloth only, with no metal polish.

Every piece is made to order. The pendant drop is set to your ceiling, and dimming is available on request.
