Glossy Glass Semi-Flush Mount | CLOR025A

The Round Glossy Glass Semi-Flush Mount is a small, rounded shade of polished glass in orange or white, with brass detailing. It is 28 cm (11″) wide and 25 cm (9.8″) high. It suits a hallway, a bedroom, a landing, a walk-in closet or any room with a standard or low ceiling.

The glass

The shade is glass with a glossy, polished surface that catches light even when the lamp is off. The orange is warm and rich, in the spirit of mid-century lighting. The white is soft and milky, and sits quietly in any room.

The frame

The fittings and detailing are solid brass, which adds a warm line of metal at the ceiling.

Why warm light matters

Glass shows the colour of the lamp inside it. At 2700K the orange glows like amber and the white turns a warm cream. Under cooler light the orange turns muddy and the white looks cold. On this piece, warm white is part of the design.

Sizing and placement

At 28 cm (11″) wide, one suits a small bedroom, a closet or a landing of up to about 3 × 3 m (10 × 10 ft). In a hallway, space several along the ceiling about every 1.5 to 2 m (5 to 6.5 ft).

Mounting

It sits close to the ceiling and drops 25 cm (9.8″), which suits ceilings of about 2.3 to 2.6 m (7.5 to 8.5 ft).

The light

The glass diffuses the lamp and spreads a soft ambient light around the room. The orange gives a low, warm glow for atmosphere; the white gives more usable light.

Lamping and installation

E26/E27 lamp base. Use warm white LED at 2700K. It weighs about 2 to 3 kg (4.4 to 6.6 lb). The fixture is hardwired. For indoor use only.

Care

Switch off and let the lamp cool. Wipe the glass with a soft cloth, lightly dampened if needed. Dust the brass with a soft dry cloth and do not use polish.
