Crackle Ceramic Wall Sconce | CLWABH015

This wall sconce sets a hand-formed ceramic capsule in an ivory crackle glaze in front of a dark bronze base, 45 cm (17.7") high, 12 cm (4.7") wide and only 8 cm (3.1") deep. The light leaves from behind the body, so it slides along the wall and picks out every line in the glaze.

The glaze

The crackle forms in the kiln, so the hairline pattern and the depth of the ivory are unique to each piece. It is hand-formed, not moulded.

Where it belongs

The shallow projection keeps it flat to the wall, which makes it work in a narrow corridor, on a staircase or between built-ins where a deeper fixture would catch a shoulder. A pair gives even bedside reading light; a row washes a corridor.

Light and installation

Warm white at 2700K. It weighs about 2.2 to 2.8 kg (5 to 6 lb). Hardwired wall mount, indoor use.
