This wall sconce suspends an alabaster globe inside a hand-textured iron ring, 23 cm (9.1") wide, 28 cm (11") high and 17 cm (6.7") deep. The ring gives the piece depth and the stone sphere sits inside it like something held rather than mounted.

The materials

The globe is turned from natural alabaster and the ring is forged and textured by hand, so both vary from piece to piece.

Where it belongs

It suits a bedside, a hallway, a stairwell or a powder room, where the ring's shadow on the wall is part of the effect.
